FAQ's

If you have questions or comments not covered in our FAQ's, just contact us and we'll reply asap!

How do I place an order from the lampwork catalog? TOP
Simple! Just decide which set(s) you are interested in, and email us with the details. We'll need the name of the set, and whether you want it exactly as shown in the photo, or if you'd prefer to make color changes, want the set in either a shiny or matte (etched) finish, add more beads to the set, etc. Once we know exactly what your preferences are, we can revise the cost if necessary, and we'll get right to work. This applies to the lampwork catalog only. For jewelry and lampwork specials, add the item to the shopping cart and go through checkout.

Is a deposit required for custom orders? TOP
NO! Due to the nature of what we do, there is no way we can guarantee that your order will be an EXACT duplicate of the item shown in our catalog. Therefore, we prefer to complete the order and email you a photo before payment is made. That way, you aren't paying for something sight-unseen, and we can be assured that you're satisfied with the results before we accept your payment. If the photo is approved, payment can be made via paypal (preferred) or with a money order or cashiers check.

What shipping and payment options are available? TOP
All items are shipped via USPS.  International customers pay $5.00 for air mail delivery.  Domestic clients may choose from $3.00 first class, or $5.00 priority mail for 1-3 sets of beads or jewelry items, including delivery confirmation.  Four items or more require the $5.00 priority option due to weight and volume. Insurance is optional at the buyer's discretion, and standard postal rates apply.  Items are packaged in bubble wrap, then shipped in either a bubble envelope for first class or a hardside box for priority delivery.

How long can I expect to wait for my items? TOP
In-stock lampwork and jewelry purchases ship within 2 business days of payment.  Custom lampwork orders are generally completed within two weeks, (if we're especially swamped, we will always let you know if it will be longer than that).  Once you've approved the photo of your completed order and payment has been received, these custom items will also ship within two business days.

What kind of materials are used in the finished jewelry items? TOP
All of our jewelry selections are composed of either sterling silver, vermeil, or gold-filled findings, and may also include our handmade lampwork beads or a variety of other components such as seed beads, genuine gemstones, czech glass beads, and swarovski crystals.

How do I care for the lampwork beads and jewelry that I purchase? TOP
Our lampwork beads are always properly kiln annealed and are generally very durable, but you must remember that they are GLASS!! Try to avoid sharp blows or sudden extreme changes in temperature. As for the jewelry, clean as you would any fine jewelry items with a mild cleaner. Storing pieces made with sterling silver components in individual plastic bags will aid in prohibiting tarnish. Another thing that we love are the anti-tarnish strips now available through most of the bead catalogs. Simply place the strips in your jewelry box and change them every 6 months. We were amazed at how well this product works. In the event that your silver does show signs of tarnish, simply polish with the treated side of a polishing cloth, then buff with the reverse side to restore the original brilliance of your silver pieces.
